My camera bag

I always get asked what my camera is and my setup, so here it is! I will share my pet photography gear and it might serve useful as a guide for beginners. Included in this post some sample pet photography images, equipment and camera settings. Follow along to learn pet photography.

• Nikon Z8

• 2x Nikon D750

• Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G Lens

• Nikon AF S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.8G Fixed Lens

• Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED VR II

• Tamron 24-70mm F/2.8 G2 Di VC USD G2 Zoom Lens for Nikon Mount

• Sigma 35mm F1.4 Art

• Neewer 750II TTL Flash Speedlite

• SanDisk 64GB Extreme PRO

• Hand Grip Strap

I use my 50mm and 85mm lenses the most. 70-200 is a great lens for action and events, but it is a heavy lens and I don't use it for my regular sessions. It is hard to say what is the best setup for pet photography, best camera and best lenses, I think it all depends on photographer's style.

Pet Photography sample images, equipment used and my camera settings.

Sample images taken with above equipment and settings used for my pet sessions. I really enjoy photographing at the end of day, but lately have been pushing to get comfortable with ANY time of day.
